Țesători bastion of Brașov

The hexagonal fortification covers 1616 square meters with walls reaching 4.30 meters in thickness and contains four levels of combat galleries with firing openings.

Built between 1421 and 1436, with additional construction from 1570 to 1573, the bastion survived the great fire of Brașov in 1689 through strict guard measures.

The structure houses the Țara Bârsei Museum, displaying medieval weapons, armor fragments, and chain mail shirts that represent regional military heritage.

Since 2002, the inner courtyard functions as an open-air stage for opera performances and cultural events throughout the year.

The defensive structure features two watchtowers and specialized openings at different levels for both large caliber weapons and small firearms.
