Nămăești Monastery

The monastery features a church entirely carved into mountain rock at an altitude of 765 meters, located 5 kilometers northeast of Campulung.

Historical documents trace the monastery's existence to the period between 1503 and 1547, during the reigns of Radu the Great and Mircea Ciobanul.

The monastery walls contain murals depicting saints, and the interior displays a collection of religious icons, including a silver-framed Virgin Mary representation.

The monastery preserves traditional craftsmanship through active workshops that produce handmade rugs and macrame items for visitors.

The grounds include a cemetery adjacent to the rocky wall where nineteenth and twentieth-century priests who served at the monastery rest.
