George Topârceanu memorial house in Nămăești, Argeș

The George Topârceanu memorial house in Nămăești is a white stone building with a bronze bust of the Romanian poet at the entrance. The ground floor displays 10 cases and 11 panels with documents and personal belongings that provide a view into his daily life.

The house originally belonged to the family of Topârceanu's wife and was donated to the state in 1966 by Victoria Topârceanu. This gift made it possible to establish the museum and preserve the poet's literary legacy for future generations.

The exhibition displays the poet's personal library, hunting weapons, manuscripts, and photographs that reflect how he spent his time. These objects show the different sides of his life beyond his literary work.

The house sits near the village school and is easy to reach. The collection is arranged mostly on one level, making a visit straightforward and manageable.

The upstairs rooms keep their original 1930s furnishings and display first editions of the poet's works from that era. Visitors can see how the space actually looked when he lived there.
