Branicevo Administrative District, Administrative district in Central Serbia.

Branicevo is an administrative district in eastern Serbia covering roughly 3,800 square kilometers. It consists of eight municipalities with Pozarevac serving as the regional administrative center, and contains around 190 settlements spread across cities and villages.

In the 9th century, a Slavic tribe called the Branicevci settled near where the Mlava River flows into the Danube. This early settlement became the foundation for the region's later development and identity.

The National Museum in Pozarevac displays significant Serbian art and surrealist works from the early 20th century. The city remains connected to these cultural institutions that visitors can explore today.

This district is best explored from Pozarevac, where most regional services and transport connections are concentrated. Allow extra time for travel between municipalities, as they are spread across a large area.

The region changed hands between different powers over the centuries before falling under Ottoman control in the 15th century. This layered history is visible in local architecture and traditions that still shape how communities look and feel today.
