Gulkevichi is an administrative center in Krasnodar Krai in southwestern Russia. The town is located roughly 150 kilometers northeast of Krasnodar at an elevation of about 100 meters and serves the surrounding agricultural region.
The settlement began in 1875 when a railway station opened on land belonging to N. V. Gulkevichu, from whom the town took its name. It remained a smaller settlement until gaining town status in 1961 after considerable growth.
The town functions as a regional hub where people from surrounding settlements come for daily needs and social interactions. It maintains the character of a working community rather than a tourist destination.
The town has several hotels and guesthouses offering basic accommodations for visitors. The nearby town of Kavkazskaya is close enough to access additional shops and services if needed.
The town has deep roots in railway history, with the train station that started it all in 1875 still defining local life and connections. This rail link remains central to how people and goods move through the region today.
