Afipsky, Urban settlement in Seversky District, Krasnodar Krai, Russia.
Afipsky is an urban-type settlement located along the left bank of the Afips River, positioned approximately 15 kilometers south of Krasnodar. The area sits at an elevation of 24 meters above sea level and is organized through two distinct postal zones.
The settlement was founded in 1865 as stanitsa Georgiyeafipskaya and gained its current administrative status as an urban-type settlement in 1958. This transformation reflected the broader changes taking place in the Krasnodar region during the Soviet period.
The settlement's identity is shaped by its riverside location, which influences how residents spend their time and interact with the surrounding area. Football culture is particularly visible through the local club FC Afips, which brings the community together through sports.
The settlement is easily accessible by car, lying just a short drive south of Krasnodar, making it straightforward to reach from the city. Visitors can expect to find standard urban services and local facilities similar to other towns in the region.
The population has grown steadily over the past decades, multiplying from around 10,000 in the years after 1959 to over 23,000 today. This consistent expansion is a story many smaller settlements in the region do not share.
