Leningradsky Avenue

Leningradsky Avenue is a major thoroughfare that runs through Moscow's northern districts, spanning several kilometers through the city. The street features apartment buildings, shops, and various public structures along its route.

The route began in the 16th century as a path leading toward Tver and later became known as the Petersburg Highway. It was renamed in 1924 to honor the city of Leningrad.

The Gothic Revival Petrovsky Palace, constructed between 1776 and 1780, stands along the avenue as a testament to Russian architectural excellence and royal heritage.

The avenue is served by several metro stations that make it easy to travel along this part of the city. Visitors can use these transit points to explore different sections and nearby areas.

The adjacent Khodynka Field served as Moscow's main airport and aviation center until the mid-20th century. Today only traces of this important chapter in aviation history remain visible in the urban landscape.
