The Saint Catherine Church features a Greek cross layout with a central dome supported by a high drum and two side chapels.
Founded in 1798 for noble girls' education, the church experienced multiple relocations before settling at its current location in 1823.
The temple served as the chapter house for the Order of Saint Catherine from 1845, with the order's emblem placed above the entrance.
The church reopened for Orthodox services in 1996 after decades of alternative uses, including periods as a furniture warehouse and library.
The wooden angel holding a golden cross atop the dome remains a distinguishing feature of this religious structure.
