Приморський парк, Coastal park in Taganrog, Russia.
Primorski Park is a green space of around 19 hectares along the coast, crossed by tree-lined paths that lead directly to the sea through three stone staircases. Visitors find here eleven different attractions, several cafes with sea views, a dance floor, and a beach area accessed through the central staircase.
The park was built in 1966 on a former quarry site, following Emperor Alexander I's selection of the location in 1818 for its views of the Azov Sea. This gap between selection and realization shows how the site gradually became a public space.
The park contains the Alley of Anchors with six authentic anchors from Peter the Great's era recovered from the Azov Sea and Taganrog Bay. These artifacts tell stories of the region's maritime past and its deep connection to the water.
The park sits on elevated terrain that creates natural viewing platforms offering panoramic views across multiple levels. The best time to explore is on quieter days when you can walk the staircases and paths without crowds.
The park's elevated position offers multiple natural observation points that reveal unexpected perspectives on the Azov Sea landscape. As you climb through the different staircase levels, you keep discovering new angles on the water and surrounding coastal terrain.
