Port of Sochi, Commercial seaport in Sochi, Russia.
The Port of Sochi is a commercial seaport along the Black Sea coast with a passenger terminal and two berths. The facility can accommodate vessels up to 220 meters long and provides connections to other ports in the region.
The passenger terminal was built in 1955 and features Stalinist architectural style. The building underwent major renovation before the 2014 Winter Olympics.
The terminal building displays decorative sculptures representing the four cardinal points and seasons on its structure. These artistic elements shape the visual character of the space visitors encounter upon arrival.
The port remains active year-round because the seawater does not freeze in this location. This allows regular ship services to nearby Georgian ports without seasonal interruptions.
The passenger terminal rises about 71 meters tall and is among the tallest maritime structures on the Russian Black Sea coast. Its distinctive outline is visible from many parts of the city and shapes the harbor skyline.
