Saint Catherine Church in Feodosia, Orthodox church building in Feodosia, Ukraine
Saint Catherine Church in Feodosia is an Orthodox house of worship crowned with five domes topped with stars. The structure features tall rectangular windows that allow sunlight to enter the central space beneath the golden dome.
The structure was financed by local residents and opened in 1892 during the birthday celebration of Russian Empress Catherine II. This timing linked the building to imperial history and made it a notable landmark of that era.
The church stands as a center of local religious life, with its cross-shaped layout and columned entrance creating a gathering space for the community. People pass through these doors for prayers, celebrations, and daily spiritual practice.
The building sits at Fedko Street 95 and is easily accessible on foot from central areas. Additional facilities including a Sunday school and educational centers operate alongside the main house of worship for community use.
A companion temple honoring Saint John the Baptist was built beside the main church in 1999 with dedicated baptismal spaces. This addition shows how the site grew to serve more religious functions over time.
