Cameron Gallery, Neoclassical gallery in Pushkin, Russia.
Cameron Gallery is a neoclassical gallery in Pushkin near Saint Petersburg featuring a colonnade of forty-four ionic columns. The structure extends along an elevated position and overlooks Alexander Park and the Great Pond below.
Charles Cameron designed and built this structure between 1780 and 1790 under commission from Catherine the Great. It was created as part of broader changes to the park grounds during her reign.
The gallery displays marble busts of notable figures from ancient history arranged along its terraces. As you walk, these portraits of classical subjects reinforce the connection to ancient traditions that the space celebrates.
The best time to visit is early morning or late afternoon when fewer people use the colonnade. The site is easily accessible from the parking area and features wide, level paths for exploring.
The interior holds the Agate Rooms, decorated with semi-precious stones throughout. These spaces show a rare combination of craftsmanship and natural materials that would have been available only to royal courts in the 18th century.
