Jazan Province

The province extends 300 kilometers along the Red Sea coast, encompassing coastal plains, mountains, and over 100 islands including the Farasan archipelago.

The territory became part of the First Saudi state in the 18th century and was formally integrated into Saudi Arabia in 1932 following border negotiations.

The region maintains strong agricultural traditions with local farmers cultivating mangoes, figs, papayas, and coffee across extensive plantations in the fertile valleys.

The province contains 118 factories, one international airport, 58 hotels, and a major seaport that facilitates trade connections with East African markets.

The Farasan Islands within the province received UNESCO biosphere reserve status in 2021, protecting essential habitats for migratory birds and marine species.
