Established in 1404 AH (1984 CE), King Faisal Sports City was built as part of the Saudi government's initiative to develop sports infrastructure in the Jizan region, receiving substantial public investment to promote sports activities at both local and national levels.

The facility operates Sunday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM, located in the Suez neighborhood near downtown Jizan with easy access via public and private transportation, offering parking areas, changing rooms, sanitary facilities, and media spaces for visitors.
