The Currency Museum at the Saudi Central Bank headquarters displays coins and banknotes across five exhibition halls. The collections trace monetary development from early Islamic coinage through to present-day currency denominations.

Two rare silver dirhams from the 8th and 9th centuries, minted in Al-Yamamah and Mecca, are among the most important monetary artifacts from early Islamic times. These pieces demonstrate how coinage was established as a practice in the Arabian Peninsula.

The collection shows how currency developed in this region from early Islamic times through to the present day. Visitors can see how money shaped daily life and commerce across different periods of Arabian history.

Guided tours with educational focus and interactive displays help visitors examine security features on current banknotes and understand how to identify them. The museum is accessible during regular hours and suited for visitors of all ages.

The third gallery presents a chronological wall display where each century is represented by diverse coins from different regions and periods. This arrangement lets visitors quickly grasp how monetary systems developed at the same time across various areas.
