Al-Nuqtah Mosque

Al-Nuqtah Mosque is a place of worship on Mount Jawshan in Aleppo, featuring stone structures, prayer halls, and traditional Islamic building techniques from northern Syria. The interior is organized with defined prayer spaces and architectural details typical of the region.

The structure dates to 944 CE, when it was originally built as a monastery before later conversion to a mosque during the early Islamic period. This transformation reflects the religious and cultural changes that shaped the region over centuries.

The sacred stone Hajar-ul-Nuqteh was moved to Karachi, Pakistan in 2016 for safekeeping during regional instability. This relocation shows how precious this stone is to the community and what lengths people will go to protect it.
