Sirinat National Park, National park in northwestern Phuket, Thailand
Sirinat National Park is a protected coastal area in northwestern Phuket with four white sand beaches, mangrove forests, and coral reefs that lie close to shore. The space combines sandy beaches with wooded areas and marine environments in one setting.
The protected area was first established in 1981 and renamed in the following decade. The site became recognized as one of Thailand's important coastal conservation zones.
Local fishing families in the surrounding areas continue their way of life on the water, which remains visible throughout the park. Their boats and nets are part of the landscape, showing how communities here have long depended on the sea.
The park is accessible from central Phuket and can be reached by vehicle in a short journey. Plan to spend time walking along the beaches and through the mangrove areas, with daylight hours being ideal for exploration.
Mai Khao Beach offers an unusual sight where aircraft descending toward the nearby airport pass directly overhead. This unexpected mixing of nature and aviation activity makes the beach experience different from most other coastal spots.
