Miniatürk, Miniature park on Golden Horn, Istanbul, Turkey
Miniatürk is a miniature park on the Golden Horn in Istanbul displaying over 100 detailed scale models of historical structures at 1:25 size. These replicas are arranged across landscaped grounds with multiple exhibition areas throughout the site.
The park opened in 2003 after a roughly two-year construction process executed at rapid pace. This ambitious project created a new way to experience the architectural history of multiple regions in a single location.
The models represent buildings from Istanbul, Anatolia, and former Ottoman lands, bringing together three millennia of architectural traditions across the park. Walking among these replicas, visitors encounter different building styles and regions all in one place.
The park is open daily from morning until evening and is easy to walk through at your own pace. It is best to wear comfortable shoes and allow yourself time to view the models without rushing.
The Crystal Istanbul Museum section uses laser effects to create three-dimensional projections of famous landmarks. This special technology offers a different way to experience some of the buildings on display.
