Sinan Erdem Dome, Indoor sports arena in Bakırköy, Turkey
The Sinan Erdem Dome features a spherical shell steel roof structure measuring 112 meters by 154 meters with independent structural support systems.
The indoor arena opened its doors on April 23, 2010, and received its name from the Turkish Olympic Committee President who served from 1989 to 2003.
The venue transformed into a central hub for Turkish basketball, hosting both Anadolu Efes and Galatasaray teams after the closure of Abdi İpekçi Arena.
With a capacity of 22,500 for concerts and 16,000 for basketball events, this facility stands as Turkey's largest multi-purpose indoor venue.
The structure incorporates six reinforced concrete twin columns supporting a shuttle-shaped steel roof covered with trapezoidal metal sheets.
