İğneada Lighthouse, Maritime navigation aid in İğneada, Turkey

The İğneada Lighthouse is a white structure on Turkey's Black Sea coast that stands about 8 meters above ground level. Its light flashes twice every 15 seconds from a height of 44 meters above the water and can be seen by ships across a range of about 20 nautical miles.

The lighthouse was built in 1866 by French engineers during Sultan Abdülmecit's reign to improve shipping safety along Turkey's northern coast. Its construction was part of the Ottoman Empire's modernization efforts in the 19th century.

The General Directorate of Coastal Safety maintains this lighthouse, which guides vessels through the Black Sea with two white flashes every 15 seconds.

The lighthouse stands in İğneada in Kırklareli province along the Black Sea coast and is accessible from the coastal road. Visitors should note that the location is isolated, so it is wise to bring proper gear and water, especially if exploring the wider area.

The site sits at the edge of İğneada Longoz National Park, where dense forests meet a 22-kilometer stretch of beach. This proximity to unspoiled forest and sea creates a special setting for those interested in nature.
