Dapinglin Station, Underground metro interchange station in Xindian District, Taiwan.
Dapinglin Station is an underground interchange in Xindian District, Taipei, where the Green Line and the Yellow Line of the Taipei Metro meet. The station has island platforms on separate levels and five exits that open onto different parts of the surrounding neighborhood.
The station opened in 1999 as part of the early expansion of the metro network in the New Taipei area, initially serving only the Green Line. The Yellow Line, known as the Circular Line, was added in 2020, turning it into a full interchange.
The station signs display the name Dapinglin in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Vietnamese scripts. This is standard across the Taipei Metro and reflects the range of languages spoken by daily riders and visitors passing through.
Changing between the Green and Yellow lines requires moving between levels, so it helps to check the signs as soon as you enter. The five exits lead to different streets, and a quick look at the map near the fare gates can save time when leaving.
When the Circular Line was added in 2020, engineers had to work around the existing underground structure that had been built for the Green Line in 1999. The limited space meant the new platforms had to be fitted in without disrupting the older tunnels already in place.
