Jiaoxi Township

Jiaoxi Township is an administrative district in northern Yilan County with a rural layout spread across several villages and numerous natural hot springs. The area features various bathing facilities that tap into the thermal water sources.

The area changed its original name to Jiaoxi following major flooding during the early Qing Dynasty settlement period. These events shaped how the community related to water and natural forces.

Hot springs shape daily life here, and public bathing facilities show how both locals and visitors spend time together soaking in the warm waters.

Trains run regularly to Jiaoxi Station, and buses connect the area to Taipei via a major expressway. It is best to arrive by public transport to explore the local network easily.

Tangweigou Hot Spring Park combines mineral-rich thermal pools with street food vendors selling regional specialties like green onion cakes. This blend of bathing and local food is central to the visitor experience.
