Xiangshan District

Xiangshan District is an administrative zone in the southwestern part of Hsinchu City that combines coastal areas, residential neighborhoods, and green spaces. The area blends urban and rural characteristics throughout its layout.

The area gained its status as a separate district in 1982 when a major administrative restructuring took place. This change marked the shift from a township to a formally integrated part of the city.

The area is home to several universities, including Chung Hua University and Hsuan Chuang University, which shape daily life and bring students to its streets. These institutions create a younger energy in the neighborhoods, with study spaces, cafés, and gathering spots scattered throughout.

The district is served by the TRA Xiangshan Station for train connections and has access to local and regional bus networks. Getting around within the area is straightforward, whether on foot or by public transport.

The district contains the Xiangshan Wetland Natural Park and a 17-kilometer coastal boardwalk overlooking the Taiwan Strait. This waterfront path lets visitors experience nature and water views up close without much effort.
