Lunbei Township

Lunbei Township is a rural area in Yunlin County situated on the Zhuoshui River alluvial plain, with low-lying terrain that slopes gently between 7 to 20 meters above sea level. Agriculture shapes the landscape here, with fields, farms, and livestock operations spread across the flat countryside.

After World War II, the township was reorganized as Taiwan transitioned from Japanese rule to administration under the Republic of China. This shift in governance established the administrative framework that exists in the region today.

The Zhaoan Hakka Cultural Hall shows how the Hakka community maintains its traditions through language, crafts, and seasonal celebrations that shape daily life here. Walking through the exhibits, you notice how these customs remain woven into the region's identity.

The flat terrain makes it easy to get around, but having your own vehicle is helpful since public transportation options are limited in the countryside. Spring and autumn are the best times to visit, when the weather is comfortable and farming activity is visible across the fields.

The region is known for intensive fruit and vegetable farming, especially watermelons and cantaloupes grown year-round on its flat fields. This farming focus has made the area a major supply source for produce across several regions of Taiwan.
