Sichongxi Hot Spring, Hot spring in Wenquan Village, Taiwan
The hot spring waters emerge from the ground at temperatures between 50 to 60 degrees Celsius, containing sodium bicarbonate with a pH level of 7.9 to 8.
The spring area, originally named Chu Tang meaning emerging hot water, gained recognition during Japanese colonial times as one of Taiwan's four major thermal destinations.
The historical bathhouse where Prince Nobuhito stayed during his honeymoon in 1932 remains preserved as a testament to the location's royal connections.
Visitors can reach the springs by taking National Freeway 3 to Nanzhou Interchange, followed by County Highway 187B and Provincial Highways 1 and 26.
The mineral composition of these springs makes them effective for treating digestive conditions and arthritis, unlike common sulfur springs found elsewhere in Taiwan.
