Dacheng Township

Dacheng Township is a rural area in Changhua County that sits on the north bank of the Zhuoshui River where it reaches the Taiwan Strait. The township is divided into fifteen villages spread across roughly 64 square kilometers.

This township took its present form after 1949, when the Republic of China established new administrative structures following its retreat to the island. The local governance patterns created then continue to shape how communities here operate.

The fifteen villages here center on rice farming, which shapes how people work and live together throughout the year. Local families have maintained these agricultural traditions across generations.

This is primarily a rural area without significant tourist facilities, so exploring on your own is most practical. The best time to visit is outside the rainy season when farm roads and countryside areas are easy to navigate.

The area is home to Xian'an Temple, a religious site that visitors can explore within the community. This temple remains an important landmark for local spiritual practices.
