Guohua Commercial Building is a large commercial complex in central Tainan, consisting of two connected blocks with nine floors above ground and two basement levels at the Minquan Road intersection. The structure replaced the Central Market in 1981 through a collaboration between Tainan City Government and Wang He Construction, reaching completion in 1983. This transformation marked a turning point in urban development when traditional marketplaces gave way to modern commercial complexes.
