Wuling Farm, Agricultural tourism center in Hsinchu County, Taiwan
Wuling Farm is an agricultural center on 700 hectares of mountainous ground in Hsinchu County, stretching between 1,740 and 2,100 meters (5,700 and 6,900 feet) in elevation within Shei-Pa National Park. The slopes hold fruit orchards, vegetable fields, high mountain tea gardens, and also fish breeding operations.
The farm began in 1963 as an agricultural research facility. Its founding provided jobs for retired military personnel while helping develop new fruit growing methods suited to mountain conditions.
Visitors see traditional farming methods through seasonal activities here, where fruit and tea growing follow the natural rhythm of the mountains. The work and routines on the slopes reflect how agriculture shaped mountain communities in this region of Taiwan.
Visitors drive on National Freeway 6 toward the Puli exit, then follow provincial highways to Wuling Road for direct access. The mountain location means winding roads and the elevation requires visitors to be in good physical condition if they plan to walk around.
The place is known not only for fruit growing but also for high mountain tea that develops special qualities at these elevations. This mix of different farm products on one site makes it a rare example of integrated mountain agriculture in Taiwan.
