新北產業園區, Technology industrial park in Xinzhuang District, Taiwan
The 新北產業園區, known in English as the New Taipei Industrial Park, is a large industrial and research zone in the Xinzhuang district of northern Taiwan. The site brings together production facilities, office buildings, and laboratories, with a focus on electronics and biotechnology companies.
The site was founded in 1984 as part of a government initiative to position Taiwan as a key player in global semiconductor and electronics manufacturing. Over the following decades, it gradually expanded and drew in more international companies.
The area around the park reflects the working life of thousands of people who commute here daily, with food stalls, small shops, and residential blocks close to the gates. The rhythm of the place follows a typical workday, with the streets filling up in the morning and quieting down in the evening.
The park is served directly by an MRT station where two elevated lines meet, making it easy to reach from the city center and the airport. Those arriving by car will find several access points around the site, though allowing extra time during peak hours is a good idea.
Although the site is primarily a working area, it has green walkways connecting buildings that fill up with workers during lunch breaks, giving it a more human pace than most industrial zones. This mix of open outdoor space and dense office blocks is something that sets it apart from similar parks in the region.
