The mountain was first recorded during a forest survey in 1908. The Renlun Work Station, located at the 37.6-kilometer mark along the trail, operated as a timber industry administrative center until 1983.
The former Renlun Work Station, situated at kilometer 37.6 of the trail, served as an administrative center for Taiwan's timber industry until 1983.
Hikers must register in advance and provide a deposit that is returned once the group is complete. Strong footwear and plenty of water are essential, as the trail remains consistently steep throughout.
Local hikers nicknamed it 'Knee-Weakening Mountain' because the constant steep climbs and descents test leg strength in ways many underestimate. The downhill portion often proves more physically demanding than the ascent.
