Beitou Park, Urban park in Beitou District, Taipei, Taiwan
Beitou Park is an urban park in Taipei's Beitou District covering roughly 29 hectares of maintained paths, recreation areas, and natural springs along the Beitou River. The terrain is shaped by surrounding mountains, which define the character of the walking routes throughout.
The park was established in 1913 during Japanese rule and became Taipei's third oldest park. It received a visit from Prince Hirohito early in its history, reflecting its importance at that time.
The central fountain serves as a gathering place where the community regularly holds performances and exhibitions. These events shape how people experience and use the grounds throughout the year.
The park is reached via Xinbeitou Station on the Taipei Metro system, with clear signs directing you to the eastern entrance. The trails are straightforward to walk, though some sections include uphill stretches.
Five natural hot spring waterfalls flow within the park boundaries, forming mineral-rich pools that emerge from the region's geological activity. Walking through, you encounter these warm water features scattered along the trails.
