Hidropark

Hidropark is a large recreational park located on an island in the Dnieper River in Kyiv, featuring beaches, water sports facilities, and numerous walking paths. The grounds span around 365 hectares and are divided into different zones for swimming, sports, and outdoor leisure.

The park was founded in 1968, when two natural islands were developed into a major leisure complex focused on water activities. This establishment was part of Kyiv's growth as a modern recreational hub during the Soviet era.

The park features a Soviet-era outdoor gymnasium with concrete and metal equipment where locals regularly exercise. Visitors can observe how recreational habits from that period remain part of daily life here.

The park is easily accessible by metro, with the Hidropark station connected directly to the islands via two bridges. The best way to explore is on foot by following the paths that run along the riverbanks.

The grounds feature several separate swimming pools that serve different purposes, from family zones to sports facilities. Each pool shows how the park caters to different types of visitors and activities.
