Borzhava Ridge, Mountain range in Mukachevo Raion, Ukraine.
Borzhava Ridge stretches between the Vicha and Rika rivers with beech forests and open pastures covering its slopes. The range consists of rolling summits ranging from 1200 to 1600 meters, many decorated with wild berry patches.
A Soviet military installation operated atop Mount Stiy at 1681 meters until 1995, leaving behind concrete structures visible today. This site was part of the Cold War defensive infrastructure in the region.
Shepherds work the mountain slopes using methods passed down over centuries, shaping the pastoral character of these Carpathian lands.
Several marked trails depart from Pylypets village to reach the ridge, with a cable car providing easy access to Mount Gemba's slopes. The hiking season runs best from May through October when conditions are favorable and trails are passable.
The ridge divides into three distinct segments, each with its own natural character and landscape feel. This division creates varied experiences as you move along the different sections of the mountain.
