Church of Saint Anthony, Lviv, Baroque Roman Catholic church in Lviv, Ukraine
The Church of Saint Anthony features a rectangular single-nave structure with side chapels, pilasters, and stone balustrades adorned with frescoes of the saint.
Built in 1718 by architect Paul Anthony Fontana, the church survived the Soviet period and maintained its religious function while many other buildings were repurposed.
The Franciscan Order maintains the religious traditions at the church, continuing centuries of Catholic worship through various political and social changes in Lviv.
Visitors can examine the architectural elements of the church, including the decorated staircase, bell tower, and statues that represent Rococo design.
The front facade incorporates decorative vases at the pediment corners and Ionic pilasters, displaying the grandeur of 18th-century European religious architecture.
