Description
The Lviv Arsenal Museum occupies a rectangular stone building topped with an octagonal tower and houses over five thousand weapons from different eras. The collection spans blades, firearms, suits of armor, and equipment dating from the 11th century through the 20th century.
History
The arsenal building was constructed between 1554 and 1556 to serve as a defensive fortress and weapons manufacturing center for the city. Over centuries, the structure changed hands and purposes before eventually becoming a museum.

The weapons on display reflect how different peoples across Europe and the Arab world equipped their fighters throughout the medieval and early modern periods. Walking through the rooms, you notice how craftsmanship and fighting styles varied greatly across regions and time.
