Korniakt Tower

Korniakt Tower is a stone tower in the Market Square in Lviv, rising 66 meters with three tiers that show Renaissance architecture and a decorative pyramid-shaped roof. The structure displays elegant windows and ornaments typical of the wealthy merchants of that time who commissioned such buildings.

Construction began in 1578 under the sponsorship of Greek merchant Konstanty Korniakt, who gained favor with Polish King Sigismund III. The project shows how foreign traders built major structures in Lviv during this period.

The tower stands alongside the Dormition Church, forming a complex that shows the influence of Greek merchants in Renaissance Lviv. You can see how traders from the east shaped the city's look and character.
