State Scientific and Technical Library of Ukraine

The State Scientific and Technical Library of Ukraine is located in central Kyiv and holds extensive collections covering science, engineering, and technology. The building houses approximately 18 million documents, including patents, standards, and technical journals.

The facility was established in 1935 as a technical library of the Soviet Union and received its current name in 1992 following Ukraine's independence. Since its foundation, the institution has developed into an important center for technical literature and research information.

The library directs the Open Ukrainian Citation Index project, which gathers and shares citation data from Ukrainian researchers. This initiative makes the country's academic work more visible internationally.
