Кызыл-Коба, Protected natural site in Crimean Mountains, Ukraine
The Kyzyl-Koba cave system extends through 25 kilometers of underground passages with a height difference of 275 meters in limestone formations.
The natural monument received national protection status in 1963 through reorganization of a local preservation site established in 1947.
Archaeological findings in the cave system indicate the presence of ancient settlements connected to the Kyzyl-Koba culture and Taurian populations.
The temperature inside the cave remains at 8-10 degrees Celsius throughout the year, requiring visitors to bring warm clothing and appropriate footwear.
The underground river Kizilkobinka flows through the first level of the cave system, creating lakes, waterfalls, and siphons within the cavern.
