Djur-Djur, Natural waterfall in Crimean Mountains, Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

Description

Djur-Djur is a waterfall in the Crimean Mountains that plunges about 15 meters into a deep basin below. The water then continues flowing through the Haphal gorge as it descends further down the slope.

History

The name comes from ancient communities and means water-water, reflecting the constant water flow. The waterfall has remained important to the region for centuries because of its dependable water source.

Culture

Local residents consider the waterfall a vital resource, as its waters supply neighboring villages with fresh mountain spring water.

Practical

The path to the waterfall follows marked wooden walkways with handrails to keep hikers safe. Wear sturdy shoes, as the paths can become slippery, especially after rain.

Did you know?

Water flows here throughout the year, even during dry summer months, making it one of the region's most water-rich waterfalls. This consistency means visitors see a powerful display regardless of the season.
