Grand bouzlouk

Grand Bouzlouk is a cave system in Crimea formed by water dissolving limestone over millions of years, creating passages and chambers throughout the rock. The interior features different sized halls and passages that reveal natural stone formations and mineral deposits along the walls.

Written records of this cave date back to the early 1700s, though serious exploration and mapping began in the early 1900s. Since then, passages have been gradually documented and opened for visitors to experience.

The cave network forms part of a regional tourist circuit that connects to Kamyanets-Podilsky Fortress and Khotyn Fortress.

The main lit passages are relatively easy to walk through and comfortable to explore due to steady cool temperatures inside. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes and bring a light jacket since the interior stays cool year-round.

This gypsum cave system ranks among the most extensive in Europe, with multiple chambers suitable for visitors of varying physical capabilities.
