Tokmakov Dacha

Tokmakov Dacha is a two-story stone and wooden villa adorned with carved decorative details and ornamental cornices throughout its exterior. A spacious veranda provides views toward the Black Sea shore and the surrounding coastal landscape.

The villa was built in 1885 for tea merchant Ivan Fedorovich Tokmakov during a period of prosperity on the coast. Following the 1921 nationalization, it was repurposed as a workers' rest home and continued serving public functions.

The estate served as a gathering place for musicians and artists visiting the Black Sea coast, and its rooms reflect the refined tastes of those who stayed here during creative retreats. The location attracted cultural figures drawn to the beauty of the seaside.

The property sits just steps away from the beach and is located near the Miskhor Sanatorium, making it easy to combine a visit with nearby recreational facilities. The coastal setting means the site is accessible year-round with good views regardless of the season.

The building merges southern coastal style elements with Siberian wooden design techniques brought by craftsmen from Kyahta in Buryatia, creating an unusual architectural blend. This combination reflects how 19th-century construction practices drew workers and ideas from across the Russian Empire.
