Tiverton

Tiverton sits at the meeting point of the Rivers Exe and Lowman and spreads across green hills with stone buildings and narrow streets. The town has a network of historical structures mixed with modern shops and services.

The Norman castle was founded in 1106 by Henry I and served as a fortress during medieval times before later becoming a fortified residence. It remained a center of regional power in the area for centuries.

Tiverton Parkway connects the town to major cities like London, Bristol, and Exeter through regular train services on the main railway line. Most attractions are within walking distance as the town is relatively compact.

The Grand Western Canal features horse-drawn barges that travel through about 11 miles of waterway without any locks, a rare experience today. This traditional form of transport has been preserved at few places in Britain.
