Hopewell, Independent city in eastern Virginia, US
Positioned at the confluence of the James and Appomattox Rivers, Hopewell covers 10.8 square miles of land and water in the Richmond Metropolitan Area.
The city originated as City Point in 1613, making it the second oldest continuously inhabited English settlement in North America after Jamestown.
