Arrowhead Stadium, NFL stadium in Kansas City, United States
Arrowhead Stadium is a football venue in the Truman Sports Complex in Kansas City, Missouri, with seating for more than 76,000 spectators across multiple levels. Red and gold seats are arranged in three tiers around the playing field, while large video boards at both ends display the games.
The stadium opened on August 12, 1972, and was designed by the Kansas City architectural firm Kivett and Myers. Several renovations took place in the following decades to bring the facility up to modern standards.
The name refers to the triangular spearhead that serves as the Kansas City Chiefs symbol, shaping the entire appearance with red and gold colors throughout. On game days, fans fill the stands wearing coordinated colors and create one of the loudest atmospheres in American football.
The stadium sits east of downtown Kansas City and can be reached via several major roads. On game days, visitors should arrive early as parking areas and entrances can become very crowded.
The stadium features special arrow markings on the yard lines that show visitors which end zone is closer. This practice was later adopted by other stadiums across the league.
