Nintendo New York

Nintendo New York spans roughly 10,000 square feet across two floors, offering products, games, and exclusive items for purchase and testing. The shop sits directly within Rockefeller Center and draws players of all ages.

The shop began in 2001 as The Pokémon Center and was renamed Nintendo World in 2005. In 2016 it received its current name as Nintendo refreshed its retail identity and reworked the format.

The second floor houses a museum section displaying generations of Nintendo consoles, including a Game Boy that survived Gulf War damage. This collection reminds visitors how durably the devices were built and what stories they accompanied.

The entrance sits at Rockefeller Plaza between 5th and 6th Avenues and opens Monday through Saturday from 10am to 8pm, Sunday from 11am to 7pm. The shop is accessible by stairs or elevator, with both floors open to visitors.

Gaming stations on the ground floor invite visitors to try current Nintendo Switch titles and join small tournaments. These areas regularly attract groups who test new releases together and exchange tips.
