Mount Arvon, Mountain summit in Upper Peninsula, Michigan, United States

Mount Arvon stands at 1,979 feet above sea level in the Huron Mountains, with forest-covered slopes leading to a clearing at the top point.

Surveys in 1982 established Mount Arvon as Michigan's highest natural point, surpassing Mount Curwood by measuring exactly 1,979.238 feet in elevation.

The mountain terrain reflects the natural heritage of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, with its dense forests and connection to Lake Superior's landscape.

Visitors reach the summit through a network of logging roads from L'Anse, with the final approach requiring a short walk from the designated parking area.

The mountain's soil consists of Munising sandy loam and Michigamme silt complex, developed on glacial till characteristic of the region's geological formation.
