Queens College is a public university in the Flushing neighborhood of Queens, New York City. The campus includes dozens of buildings with lecture halls, laboratories, theaters, and administrative facilities spread across a large green site.
The college opened in 1937 on the former site of the New York Parental School, following a recommendation by Mayor La Guardia's committee. It became part of the City University of New York system and originally focused on teacher training.
