Cornelius

Cornelius is a town in Mecklenburg County situated along Lake Norman, featuring residential neighborhoods connected by tree-lined streets and waterfront paths. The community includes schools such as William A. Hough High School and several elementary institutions that serve local families.

Founded in 1893 and officially incorporated in 1905, the town was named after local resident Joe B. Cornelius. It gradually transformed from farmland into a thriving residential community.
