Anderson Speedway, Racetrack
Anderson Speedway is an oval motorsport racing track in Anderson, Indiana, that hosts races for local and regional teams. The track is roughly half a mile (about 800 meters) long and features covered grandstands around its perimeter.
The track opened in the 1950s, making it one of the oldest active racing venues in the Midwest. Over the decades, the facility grew and was updated to keep pace with the demands of regional motorsport.
Anderson Speedway has a loyal following in the Anderson area, with families and longtime fans returning season after season. On race nights, the stands fill with people who treat the event as a regular part of their summer routine.
Arriving early is a good idea, as parking fills up fast on race nights. The covered grandstands provide shelter from sun or rain, and food and drinks are sold on site.
Anderson Speedway regularly runs night races under floodlights, which gives the grandstand experience a very different feel from daytime events. The lights reflect off the track surface and make it easier for spectators to follow the cars at close range.
