Faith United Parish, Congregational church on Main Street, Fitchburg, United States
Faith United Parish is a red sandstone and brick church on Main Street in Fitchburg that rises 158 feet (48 meters) tall with a clock tower, belfry, and octagonal spire. The structure sits at an intersection and continues to serve as a gathering place under its current ministry.
The congregation began in 1802 as a Congregationalist church. It merged with First United Methodist Church in 1967 to form the present-day parish.
The interior features five Tiffany windows that reflect artistic craftsmanship valued in late 19th-century religious buildings. These stained glass works shape the appearance of the worship space and show how communities invested in beauty for their gathering places.
The building stands at 820 Main Street and is visible from outside any time. Visitors can view the exterior features while services and events take place inside at designated times.
The Massachusetts Historical Commission funded restoration work that allowed precise measurement and repair of the clock tower. This careful restoration preserved the original details of the belfry capitals.
